Sawtell is found on the beautiful Mid-North coast of New South Wales just 6km south of Coffs Harbour. Located 550kms north of Sydney and 400kms south of Brisbane, it enjoys Australia's most temperate climate.
Long sandy beaches, pristine rainforest, the magnificent Solitary Islands Marine Park and the nearby Dorrigo National Park make Sawtell a must visit destination.
Sawtell is a seaside village and is one of the few villages left along the coast that has retained a quiet charm.
Sawtell is bounded to the east by safe surf beaches, to the north and south by unspoiled water ways and Bongil Bongil National Park and to the west by scenic mountain ranges

The quaint town centre of Sawtell is like an oasis with its tree lined main street.The town centre is a stones throw from Sawtell Beach, which can often be found thriving with locals and holiday makers enjoying the surf and the great rock pool at the southern end of the beach.
South of the headland is the beginning of Bongil Bongil National Park. To the north of Sawtell is the popular and safe swimming area at Boambee Creek Reserve, the foreshore area is spacious leaving plenty of room for barbecue and park facilities.
Sawtell has 12 restaurants and 6 or so food takeaways. Bookings for the restaurants is highly recommended. Also in Sawtell is a lovely restored cinema. You can enjoy a relaxing drink, or a flutter on the poker machines at the Sawtell RSL or, as well as a games of bowls, at the Sawtell Bowls Club. For the golfer, across the road you will find the Sawtell Golf Club which boasts an 18 hole golf course and full clubhouse facilities.
Other sporting facilities besides bowls & golf are crouquet (two courts) tennis (12 courts) cricket (two ovals) surf and pleanty of places to fish and scuba dive.
Always a popular tourist destination, Sawtell is now experiencing a revival, as new homes, subdivisions and shopping centres lure both locals and tourists alike by its quiet , unhurried charm.
